New Beginnings is an addiction recovery group with a common purpose to serve our community in educating those who suffer from addiction. Our vision is to: Reach out to others overcome by addiction, empower individuals with tools for recovery, and teach them how to help others.

We are committed to creating a safe environment for men and women to share their experiences, strengths, victories, and challenges with each other.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Sundays, 9:00AM

English as a Second Language (ESL) is offered to any non-native English speaker desiring to improve their English speaking and writing skills. This course is great for those who are learning English as their second (or third) language and are trying to adapt to become a part of our community.

We use the Ventures teaching material by Cambridge University Press which offers 5 levels. The only cost for these classes are the books. All new students are given a placement test to determine which level they are best suited for and each student will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Each level is taught by a highly qualified teacher that will work at the student's pace. All classes are offered twice a week.

Good News KIDS

Good News Kids is an after school program for students in elementary school and is open to all boys and girls regardless of religious background. It is an exciting fun filled time that includes: Bible lessons, creative learning activities, scripture memory, games, snacks and songs.

We currently have teams in the Strasburg, New Philadelphia and Midvale school systems. Since the ministry started in 2011 we have seen dozens of children accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and have given out over 1,000 Bibles.

The Good Shepherd

Sundays, 10:45AM

Room 110

The Good Shepherd Ministry has been active since 1975 and focuses on reaching out to the developmentally disabled in Tuscarawas County. This ministry has seen spiritual growth in those that attend through a format of Learning, Exploring and Sharing God’s word.

In addition to the emphasis on God’s word, The Good Shepherd Ministry makes a great effort to reach out in the community and around the world. This ministry is staffed by a wonderful group of teachers who love and care for those they minister to.
